Using Wood Products is Good for the Environment

Forests play a critical role in absorbing carbon dioxide (CO2) in the environment. CO2 is the primary chemical compound responsible for the greenhouse effect and global warming. By harvesting mature trees and then replacing them with saplings, sustainable forestry actually reverses CO2 emissions.

Healthy, growing trees have a negative CO2 balance. To maintain a negative carbon balance, old or mature trees have to be harvested and new trees must be planted. Dead and dying timber emits CO2. Using mature or dying trees to produce wood products locks the CO2 in the timber. In short, using wood creates a positive effect for the environment called carbon sink.

By making and purchasing things made from wood, we minimize the need for products that are manufactured from carbon-emitting steel, concrete or plastic.

Our Wood Comes from Sustainable Forests

We obtain all of our wood from sustainably managed forests. Europe has more managed, certified forests than anywhere else in the world. All of our wood comes from sustainable forests certified by Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®). This is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. 

FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) was established in 1993 in response to concerns of global deforestation. FSC® is a certification system that provides internationally recognized standard-setting, trademark assurance, and accreditation services to companies, organizations, and communities interested in responsible forestry. The FSC® currently represents 50 countries around the world and provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value.

Recycled plastic materials cards

These recycled PVC credentials provide the same quality and reliability you’ve come to expect from regular PVC. You get a ID or membership card that doesn’t harm the planet, and don’t compromise in doing so.

Made of 20% PVC and 80% chalk, it will go a long way to help our planet towards a cleaner and more sustainable earth.

• These cards are CR80/credit card-sized cards, measuring 86mm x 54mm.
• The cards can be customized using a standard PVC ID card printer.
• Each card is the standard 0.76mm in thickness.
• These cards aren’t recommended for heavy lamination.

PETG Cards

PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is an environmentally friendly to produce plastic cards and PETG has been widely used for plastic card issuers and credit cards. It exhibits the same characteristics as PVC plastic cards. PETG cards can be recycled without creating any harmful gases or even polluting the environment. Reasons for using P ETG for plastic cards; a wide range of innovations and tailor-made specifications thanks to the co-extrusion process, high mechanical strength and excellent flex tests with PETG and the wide spectrum of card applications can be made. Finally and more important are ecological considerations since PETG is environmentally friendly.

ABS Plastic Recycled Cards

This process is to reduce waste of PVC material as well as extra sheet materials. The ABS plastic recycled cards are manufactured with the same high quality printing and personalization processes used on our standard PVC plastic cards.
